Executive Director
Planned Parenthood Regina
Risa is a nonprofit professional from Treaty 4 territory where she lives with her partner, Paula, and children, Gaia and Ever. She is committed to supporting thriving, interconnected, and resilient communities and is passionate about leadership models that prioritize equity and justice. Risa is the current Executive Director of Planned Parenthood Regina, a role she moved into in early-2022 after seven years with Common Weal Community Arts, Saskatchewan’s only arts organization devoted solely to socially-engaged practice. Risa’s career began as a student at the University of British Columbia where she immersed herself in roles at the Vancouver Art Gallery, Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery, and ArtsStarts in Schools. Since settling in Regina, she has contributed to Saskatchewan’s vibrant arts sector through positions at SK Arts, Regina Folk Festival, and the MacKenzie Art Gallery. Additionally, she is an active volunteer who currently serves on the Board of Directors of Briarpatch Magazine and Regina Folk Festival. When she’s not working, Risa is a travel-loving, adventure-seeking bibliophile who finds joy in live music, bold colours, and the expansive prairie landscape.
